Bongani Mthethwa
Managing Director
Bongani is an entrepreneur with an extensive array of knowledge and skills within the coal industry, working in the industry since 2013 by assisting companies source coal for Eskom. Having been a part of various companies which specialize in commodity trading with coal as its primary commodity, having also moved sizable volumes of Chrome and Manganese, he founded AfriResources with the vision of creating client satisfaction through excellence within the Coal Mining Industry.
Bongani started as a founding Director of Bokamesi Holdings which had an offtake from Liketh Investments to export coal for the Western European markets. He has since been a part of various companies on a consultancy basis for companies such as Trafigura, Vitol SA, Glencor and South32 or as an executive director in Dynamic African Mining and Energy. This allowed him to gain invaluable experience with both the export and domestics markets for various coal products and acquiring a rare skill of being able to assist developing and new mines to market their products and place them in markets where they can generate the most value.

Luhein Lategan
Business Development Officer
After graduating from Stellenbosch University with a B.Comm degree, Luhein spent years in the corporate sector. Upon becoming involved in an earthmoving company, performing open cast mining in the coal industry, the coal industry became a passion. Luhein concentrates on developing business opportunities within the realm of the company with the aim of establishing and fulfilling long-term delivery obligations.
Relationships across the same ethos lines resulting in the successful accomplishment of the tasks at hand are what drives him. There is no substitute for professionalism underpinned by absolute morality. Separate from work – just as Graham Beck married coal and MCC – Luhein intends to marry coal and Sauvignon Blanc
